I just wanted to send a few housekeeping notes about the newsletter transition to Substack.
I used to send out weekly essays through a different email marketing platform, which I adored, but they started getting pricey so I decided to finally make the switch completely over to Substack (which is free to me and to you!)
I like to think of Substack as a mature and introverted social media platform that is a community of writers and readers. Writing from professionals, writing from newbies, pretty much anyone making long form writing content. Substack is filled with writing about culture, politics, wellness, business, basically anything.
If you don’t want to engage with Substack in the slightest as an actual platform of sorts, then I get it! All you do is sit tight and enjoy your weekly email.
But, if you are interested, feel free to download the app or get on the website and subscribe to other newsletters and writing from wonderful, interesting, talented people. It’s a platform that I have absolutely loved to lean into, connect to other writers and readers with, and engage in meaningful and thoughtful conversation and debate.
Hopefully, one day, we can have a nice little Stay Close community of readers that can connect and chat.
If you do end up making a Substack and find other interesting newsletters to subscribe to, do share! Some are free, others you have to pay for monthly. I personally subscribe to this one where they not only send out a newsletter, but also a weekly podcast recapping pop culture and reality tv.
Anywho, this about sums it up. Not much is changing, but if you would like to engage with the Substack platform more, I think it’s worth your time.
Feel free to reply back with any questions/comments/concerns.
As always, I'm rooting for you.
Until next time,
xoxo
Marisa
